Batman - The Movie

”Their minimum objective must be the entire world.” – Batman (“Batman – The Movie – 1966)

When you mention “Batman”, most people think of the movies starring Michael Keaton, Val Kilmer and/or George Clooney.  But the caped crusader’s first film included the cast of the 1960’s TV show starring Adam West as Batman/Bruce Wayne and Burt Ward as Robin/Dick Grayson.  In this movie Batman and Robin must fight the United Underworld made up of the Joker (Cesar Romero), the Penguin (Burgess Meredith), the Riddler (Frank Gorshin) and Catwoman (Lee Meriwether).  These super criminals are planning to wreak havoc by using their dehydrator on those who stand in their way.  Can they be stopped? Will Batman and Robin save the day?  Will there be any movie blunders?  Of course!

Watch Your Step

Watch closely when Batman is on a ladder dangling from the Batcopter!  Although he doesn’t move, the distance between Batman and the end of the ladder changes in different shots.  (We won’t even mention the shark!)

Holy Missed Punch, Batman

At one point during the film, Bruce Wayne is attacked by the United Underworld.  Bruce swings and supposedly makes contact with the Penguin’s face.  Keep a close eye and you’ll see that he really misses.

The Same Missile Twice

During the film, there are two separate occasions when the Joker fires a missile.  The first time the missile fires, it flies to the right.  Towards the end of the movie, another missile is fired.  This time it travels towards the left.  Take a good look at this scene and you’ll see that it’s the mirror opposite of the first one.  Even the writing is backwards!

Where Did the Equipment Go?

The United Underworld dehydrates the nine members of the Security Council.  At the end of the movie, Batman and Robin save the day by setting up the equipment and re-hydrating them.  However, in the following scene the re-hydrating equipment is nowhere to be seen.
