Monster Squad
“Two thousand-year-old dead guys do not get up and walk away by themselves!” – Del Crenshaw (“Monster Squad” – 1987)
Dracula (Duncan Regehr), Frankenstein (Tom Noonan), the Mummy (Michael MacKay), Wolfman (Carl Thibault) and the Gillman (Tom Woodruff Jr.) appear in modern day suburbia and it’s up to Sean (Andre Gower), Patrick (Robby Kiger), Phoebe (Ashley Bank), Rudy (Ryan Lambert), Horace (Brent Chalem) and Eugene (Michael Faustino) a.k.a. The Monster Squad to save the day. While you’re watching this family flick, here are a few things to look for!
It’s What’s For Dinner!
At the beginning of the movie, two men use dynamite to blow open the door of the castle. We see a close-up of a blonde vampire bride (Charly Morgan) eating a dead possum, which she’s holding up to her face. But in the next back shot of her, as the men come through the doorway, we can see her hands are by her side and empty. It then cuts to another close-up of her and it’s the original shot with the animal (she then drops it before being shot with a wooden stake).
He’ll Get A Charge Out Of This!
Dracula has located Frankenstein in the swamp. When Dracula brings him back during the storm, watch the two wires that he connects to Frankenstein’s ears. When the lightning first hits and we see an overhead view of Frankenstein, the wires run to his left. In all other shots, they run to his right where Dracula is standing.
Help Yourself!
Sean, Patrick and Horace are having the book translated by the German man (Leonardo Cimino). Patrick walks across the room to admire an airplane model. When he comes back and sits on the sofa, a left side shot of him shows that he picks up a glass from the table. It then cuts to a front shot of the three boys sitting on the sofa and Patrick’s hands are empty.
Better To See You With…

Are You Sitting Down For This?
When limbo opens and the gusts of wind are blowing everything inside, we see Phoebe take cover behind a turned over bench. During the scene she is behind the right side of the bench. After the hole closes, we see a far shot of her moving to the left side of the bench. But the next close-up of Phoebe shows she’s in her original position, behind the right side of the bench.
