Slither
“Don’t forget your guns! We don’t want any Lyme Disease jumping out at us.” – Wally (“Slither” – 2006)
Wheelsy is a quiet, peaceful town. But not for long! A meteorite crashes and turns an unsuspecting Grant (Michael Rooker) into a deadly alien. With the help of some slithery creatures, the town’s citizens are slowly being turned into acid-spitting zombies. Will Bill, the town’s sheriff (Nathan Fillion), Starla (Elizabeth Banks), Kylie (Tania Saulnier) and Jack, the town’s mayor (Gregg Henry) be able to thwart the alien’s plans? While you’re watching “Slither” here are a few things to look for.
Pull Up A Chair!
When Grant goes to the bar there is a woman (Kathryn Kirkpatrick) singing “The Crying Game”. In the back shot of the woman (where we can see the audience), we can see Grant sitting at a table. The table in front of him, near the stage, is clear and the table to his right has three people sitting at it. But, when the camera switches angles to Grant’s vantage point, there is now a man sitting at the table in front of the stage with peanut shells covering it. Then when Brenda (Brenda James) approaches, the people at the table are suddenly gone.
Leave It Alone!
Grant is in the basement with the bag of leaves. We see him dump the leaves and then throw the bag to his right. In the far shot, when Grant starts to roll in the leaves, the bag is gone. It then switches to a close-up of Grant in the leaves and then back to the far shot. The bag is suddenly on the floor right next to the pile of leaves!
Where Did It Go?
Starla tries calling Bill and Wally (Don Thompson) after finding out what was in the basement. Grant suddenly appears and they start to fight. At one point, Grant hits Starla and she falls, knocking down a nearby table. Look closely! When the table falls, the top part lands near Starla. It’s near Starla’s left arm in the front shot of her when she tries to reach the phone. But it’s suddenly missing during the rest of the scene when Bill and Wally arrive.
An Open And Shut Case!
When we first see Kylie in the bathtub (where she turns the water fawcet with her foot), the overhead shot shows the curtains to her left are closed. But in the next shot, when she’s talking to her mom (Iris Quinn), the curtains are open.
Don’t Leave Prints!
After being attacked in the bathroom, Kylie tries to get into Emily (Matreya Fedor) and Jenna’s (Amber Lee Bartlett) room. She tries to open the door but it’s locked. Keep a quick eye on this one! When Kylie goes to get the statuette to break the door down, there is a wide shot showing the door. It’s white with no marks on it! But in the next close-up of the door (when Kylie has the statue), there are red blood prints on it!
I’m Not Cleaning That!
Bill and Kylie are in the police car that’s being attacked by the zombies. One zombie spews acid on the driver’s window and then smears it. But when Bill picks up Starla and Jack, there is no trace of the spew on the window!
