The Wolf Man

“Even a man who is pure in heart and says his prayers by night

May become a wolf when the wolfbane blooms and the autumn moon is bright.” (“The Wolf Man” – 1941)

Larry Talbot (Lon Chaney Jr) returns home where he reconciles with his father Sir John Talbot (Claude Rains) and strikes up a friendship with Gwen (Evelyn Ankers).  But things take a drastic turn when Larry is bitten by a werewolf.  While you’re watching “The Wolf Man” be sure to look out for the full moon and these movie oops!

A Howling Good Time

While Jenny (Fay Helm) is having her palm read by Bela (Bela Lugosi), Larry and Gwen are taking a stroll through the woods.  The two stop to talk and we see that Larry’s hand is propped against the tree, next to Gwen.  He takes his hand down when he says the line “You know what I mean”.  But in the very next front shot, Larry’s hand is back to its original position against the tree.

Once Bitten…

Larry has been attacked in the woods and Gwen is helping him get home.  In the far shot, we see the butler open the door and help Larry (with Gwen) in.  Then, in the very next close-up of the door, we see the same things happen again.

Did The Werewolf Have Time To Change Clothes?

When we first see Larry slowly turn into a werewolf, he is sitting in a chair and wearing a white t-shirt.  After Larry transforms into the werewolf and is walking through the woods, he is now wearing a dark, long sleeved shirt with buttons.  This happens again later in the film.

Caught Up In Conversation

Watch the position of Dr. Lloyd (Warren William) and Larry change when they are talking about werewolves.  At first they are leaning forward, towards each other.  In the following shot when they are talking about the asylum, they are leaning back and away from each other.  But, in the next shot, when we hear the line “Doctor, I have to talk to you”, Dr. Lloyd and Larry are in their original positions.
